By connecting small-scale miners to the international market, we create a fairer value chain where communities benefit, nature is protected, and Zambia\u2019s natural wealth contributes to a brighter future.<\/p>

Why Colored Gemstones Matter<\/strong><\/h3>

Unlike large-scale mining for copper or gold, the extraction of colored gemstones is:<\/p>

  • Low impact<\/strong> \u2013 no chemicals or heavy machinery are required.<\/li>\n\n
  • Artisanal<\/strong> \u2013 mostly done by hand, providing livelihoods to thousands of Zambians.<\/li>\n\n
  • Sustainable by design<\/strong> \u2013 when miners earn fair incomes, they move away from harmful practices such as charcoal production or poaching.<\/li><\/ul>

    Many gemstone deposits are located near sensitive ecosystems \u2014 like South Luangwa, Kafue, Lower Zambezi, and tropical forest reserves. Supporting responsible gemstone mining is therefore also a way to protect wildlife and landscapes<\/strong>.<\/p>
